About the Event

The French Film Festival is a Two-night festival that begins each night with a cultural event at 6:30 P.M. in the Campus Theater patio area. The cultural event features food, art, and music that represent a little bit of French culture. All Movies begin at 7:30 P.M. in the campus theater.

Parking is free at the Fullerton College Parking Structure on the 3rd and 4th floors on both nights of the festival. All films have English subtitles

The Innocent - Tuesday, April 8, 2025:
Part crime thriller, part family comedy, Louis Garrel’s The Innocent masterfully blends humor and suspense to explore the lengths people will go for love and loyalty. Garrel stars as Abel, a widowed museum educator whose world is upended when his eccentric mother, Sylvie marries Michel, an ex-con and former student in her prison drama class. Determined to protect Sylvie, Abel begins clumsily surveilling his new stepfather, only to uncover Michel’s return to a life of crime. When Abel is reluctantly drawn into one of Michel’s risky schemes, he finds an unexpected ally in Clémence, a bold and spirited coworker who inspires him to step out of his emotional comfort zone. As the group’s heist unfolds, the boundaries between performance and reality blur, revealing hidden depths in each character. The Innocent is a playful yet poignant exploration of love, deception, and self-discovery, showcasing how even the most unexpected roles can transform our lives.

Les Petites Victoires - Wednesday, April 9, 2025:
In the heartwarming French comedy Les Petites Victoires, Alice, the primary school teacher and diligent mayor of the quaint village of Kerguen, finds herself stretched to her limits. Already juggling her dual roles with dedication, her life takes a chaotic turn with the arrival of Emile, a fiery sixty-year old who has resolved to conquer his lifelong illiteracy. Emile’s larger-than-life personality disrupts Alice’s carefully balanced routine, pushing her patience and resourcefulness to the brink. As if managing Emile’s learning journey weren’t enough, Alice is faced with an urgent crisis: saving the beloved school in her village from impending closure. Through humor, resilience, and unexpected camaraderie, Alice discovers that even small victories can lead to monumental changes in personal lives and the larger village community. Instruction in advertising design, design history, graphic design, packaging, production techniques, publication design, and typography.

Applied Program

The Applied Music Program provides students the opportunity to study privately with Fullerton College music faculty in their particular applied music discipline. Students receive one-on-one instruction and are expected to perform in a recital situation each semester.

Art History

The study of objects of art in their historical development and stylistic contexts, i.e. genre, design, format, and style.

Ceramics

Taking mixtures of clay, earthen elements, powders, and water and shaping them into desired form.

Under the direction of Professor Nicola Bertoni, the Fullerton College Choral Studies Program has garnered a national reputation for excellence in performance and the training of future music educators throughout the state.

Directing and Playwriting

Few community colleges offer students opportunities to study directing and playwrighting in their first two years of undergraduate study. Students follow the classwork they successfully complete with opportunities to compete for assignments in the Playwrights Festival and the Directors Festival.

Learn the practice of rendering form through direct observation entails a process of retraining the eye to see in new and exciting ways.

Instrumental Music

The Instrumental Music Program offers a wide variety of ensembles in various styles for student performance. Students in these ensembles benefit from the direction of our nationally and internationally recognized faculty while also developing critical performance skills required at four-year institutions.

Jazz Studies

The Jazz Studies at Fullerton College is coordinated by Professor Bruce Babad (Instrumental) and Professor Jamie Shew (Vocal).We offer many courses and ensembles for instrumentalists and vocalists within the program to study and perform songs from the vast, rich tradition and evolution of jazz music.

Jewelry & Stained Glass

Casting and fabrication, exploring metal techniques used with precision processed metal or the processes using molten metal.

Music Technology

Fullerton College is on the forefront of teaching the latest tools of the trade and offer classes in Electronic Music Production, Film Scoring, Recording using Pro Tools, Logic Pro X and Ableton Live. Third party certifications are available for Pro Tools and Logic Pro X.
