This course is a survey of American art and architecture from the 17th century to the present. Lectures will present an overview of painting, sculpture, photography, and architecture from Colonial beginnings through recent Post-Modern developments. Emphasis will be placed on discovering what is American in American art. 54 hours lecture per term.
