The Desktop Publishing Certificate program requires a total of 28-36 units of which 26-30 units are in required courses. An additional 2-6 units must be chosen from the restricted units listed below. This certificate program teaches digital publication design, building a portfolio representative of the student's artistic talents and technical proficiency.

Outcome 1: Apply the terminology of computer graphics to communications within the field of digital media. Outcome 2: Demonstrate basic use of computer graphics software and hardware. Outcome 3: Devise solutions to gain an understanding of computer technology vital to web designers. Outcome 4: Develop digital artwork that clearly illustrates the student's solutions. Outcome 5: Evaluate digital media tools for their suitability to different areas of visual communications. Outcome 6: Create a new document incorporating text and images, using page layout software.
